Jennifer Foss, who received an M.A. from the Slavic Department in 1994, moved from the Ph.D. program to law in 1997, obtaining a J.D. from Cornell University Law School in 2001. She is Counsel and a senior member of the Global Real Estate Group in the Prague office of the international law firm Salans Europe LLP. Jennifer advises international and domestic clients across the CEE and CIS regions in real estate and construction matters involving cross-border components. Jennifer also worked for White & Case in Moscow (2010 2011), after years of practicing law in the U.S. She is a member of the Czech Bar Association (Practicing Foreign Attorney Qualification), and uses both Czech and Russian in her work.
Jennifer’s son Carlo, who was born in Berkeley, is an undergraduate at Reed College, where Zhenya Bershtein, Jennifer’s classmate at Berkeley, serves as his adviser: he studies Russian.
